Party lines you used to CALL ON THE PHONE! The original "chat room" LOL.
Different colored socks stacked 3 high on each ankle.
Getting up to change the channel.
Having dad scream from the roof "how about now?" while fiddling with the antenna to clear up the snowy picture on the tv.
Having ONE phone in the hallway for everyone to use- WITH a rotary dial of course.
$3.50 movies at the Franklin Movie theater.

The tolls were so cheap that there were change baskets to toss your coins in
My parents' VCR had a wired remote control
We used to play games and draw with chalk on our regular old suburban street without any parents watching us.
You could buy an unscrambled cable box out of someone's trunk in the grocery store parking lot
We got Prodigy with our dial up modem, chat rooms (inviting and not inviting certain people), hacking programs, instant messaging became IMing

Gimp bracelts/keychains
French rolling the bottom of my jeans
Wearing two or more different colored socks on the same foot
Hypercolor shirts
up down up down left right light right A B A B select start
warp zones in Super Mario Bros

Yes! I vividly remember my mom would drive a bit out of her way to go the station that had gas for $.99! It wasn't even THAT long ago either. So sad!

Just found out from pilot friend that you can still do that if you ask nicely after the flight.
She flies for United.
we just flew last month on jet blue and as soon as we borded the pilot asked the boys if they wanted to come check out the cockpit... but they got afraid! They all got wings though :)

Double (or triple) socks in different colors
LA Gears or Reebok Pumps
There was always a wait at a toll booth because no one had EZ Passes
Gas stations were ALL full service AND they washed your windshields
Meeting people at the gate in an airport
Going on a plane was a special occasion and you were supposed to dress up

Wow, seeing this picture was just like drinking in a tall glass of memories!!!!  I used to LOVE this thing! My sister and I would buy it in different flavores. i think my fav used to be raspberry. Whatever happened to these? Did they find traces of arsenic in those too?
