I saved 2 moms from a lot of distress today

So Maddie and I went to the mall today and twice I caught to young tots wondering off on their own. The first one was about 18mths and she decided to walk right out of the store while her mom shopped. I happen to be walking right by the store when she did this so I gently nudged her back into the store. Right at the moment I saw her mom pop her head up and start looking for her when she saw me. The second was at a little play area for young kids. It is pretty closed in except for the entrance/exit area. While Maddie was playing I spotted a toddler about 14mths old (she looked like she was new to the whole walking sceneChat Icon ) racing right out the exit. I ran and got her and picked her up and put her back in the play area since I didn't know who she belonged too. Well this fiesty little girl decided she didn't want to be there anymore so she raced right back out!(reminded me of my own high energy child) I ran and grabbed her again and this time I saw her mom who was with an older child. So just as reminder to all us moms, keep an eye out for these young toddlers, they sure are quick on their feet!

Yes they were very appreciative. It's not like they were being negligent or anything, these kids were just quick. That's why I wanted to remind everyone to stay on their toes. It only takes a second...

i do and have done the same thing...

although one time i couldn't believe the reaction on the grandmother's (i'm assuming) face. her granddaughter was walking out the door when i and another employee ran after her. the employee turned to me and said something like, "yeah, we mom's have got to stick together" and the grandmother was totally unfazed by the entire incident, like it never even happened...totally bizarre...

I know how fast they move and honestly when I am out I do keep an eye out. I would rather chase someone else's kid rather than have them kidnapped.

It really takes only a moment. It happens to even the best of us. I am like a hawk with my kids but I have had moment when DS would take off and turn the corner. Who knows who's around the corner.

Good for youChat Icon Chat Icon

It is stated that it takes a village and we as parents are that village.
