I saw a terrible accident on the way home from Jury Duty
On Nichols Rd where the Middle Country rd exit is. They had one person covered with a tarp and another was getting cut out of his clothes. I only saw one police car and it looked like a bunch of Good Samaritans. You could tell that the two on the ground had flown through the front window of the van they were driving in. I actually started to cry when I saw the person who didn't make it

I am pretty sure I got there right after it happened. Because I was actually surprised that we got through. They didn't even have an ambulance there yet.

I get livid when I see people driving recklessly because no one ever thinks they're going to be the cause of someone dying like that, but so many are every day....

Re: I saw a terrible accident on the way home from Jury Duty
I saw one like that in Orlando right outside Disney. They had a tarp over someone in the driver's seat. It was a minivan, so it must have been a family on vacation. That was 8 years ago and I'm still saddened and affected by it.
Sorry you had to see it--sorry it had to happen.

I just drove by that! They were cleaning it up and had the van on a tow truck. It definitely looked the the van rolled, but I didn't know it was that bad that someone died

omg, i was right there too. the van actually looked like it may have rolled or something, because the top of it was all crushed and scraped! i knew it was bad, because of the yellow tarp. you know once you see that yellow tarp, it has to be bad!
i said a little prayer as i passed

From NEWSDAY!
A Farmingville man was killed Monday afternoon after losing control of his van while changing lanes on Nicolls Road in Centereach, Suffolk Police say.
George Angelis, 37, was declared dead at the scene after his Chevrolet van skidded and rolled, ending in an upright position, police said.
Both Angelis and a passenger in the van, Jesse Ghiselli, 18, were ejected from their seats. Ghiselli was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, cops said.

Re: I saw a terrible accident on the way home from Jury Duty
My DH is a truck driver and passed the scene right after it happened! He saw the poor guy lying face down- he wasn't covered yet- he saw the cops running to him. Unfortunately he sees about one fatal accident a day!
for his family!
