I spoke to my dr's office about giving Tylenol for 8 wk shots...
They said I shouldnt do it because it can mask symptoms that we should keep an eye on the 1st time around - so poor Cailen will be so uncomfortable tomorrow...

I didn't use Tylenol at all the first shots and she was fine. Just very sleepy- so don't worry.

Awww....which shots is he getting? We have our 2 months check up next week but I havent decided what to do yet.

my ds was fine with 2 month shots and then had a fever with 4 month shots good luck

Thats right, my Dr said the same to me, and till this day I never give Julia tylenol after her shots.

I asked on the phone, it sounded like a huge list, but really it is only about maybe 4 shots? Or 2? Who knows... All I remember is the yummy oral vaccine for rotavirus that everyone tells me their babies loved.
If only every vaccine could taste like cherry....

My doctor told me to give Tylenol....I did & It didn't turn out good. I agree with your doctor.

I didn't give DD Tylenol before her shots for that reason. She was just sleepy afterward. Good luck!!

My doctor said the same thing, so I didn't give him the tylonel for his shots -- he cried and cried. 2 weeks later when I took him back for his 2nd shots I gave him the tylonel -- no crying. I now give him tylenol before all his shots. Honestly, if he has a reaction that is mild enough that tylenol takes care of it, my doctor won't be concerned with it anyway, so I prefer to have him be comfortable at the time of the shots.

I only gave it to him if he had a fever from the shots. I think only once did he ever act differently from them. My Dr. only gave 2 shots at a time.

I never gave damien anything when he had shots. I hate that whole give it to them just in case. I had to give it once to Jaidyn but only because she developed a high fever.

We gave the tylenol after and it was fine...we only used it after the shots with the dr's ok.
Hopefully lots of hugs will be enough to calm him

He will be fine
My DD never had any reactions to her shots - she didn't even cry while getting some of them. i think its more painful for the parent watching their child get stuck with the needle - more than the child.
We never gave her tylenol - unless i saw she needed it because of a symptom so i don't believe in giving it to them before every shot your child has.
Every child is different.
