I think Julia has the croup again....UPDATE
She had a fever the past 2 days and a cough, nothing bad so I thought it might be her molars coming in since the dentist said she saw a lot of them coming up. Yesterday she was fine, playing eating no fever, so I figured she was better......well last night she woke up coughing again and this time it sounding like a barking cough, and had a fever again and that lasted the whole day today.
The poor kid had the croup last month, and it was horrible to see her go through that, and now again??? I have a Dr's appt tomorrow, I'm hoping its nothing bad, but by the sound of her cough I'm not to sure.... Anything with the breathing makes me sooooo nervous!!!
UPDATE: Yup its croup! Now she's on medication for 3 days.... Her Dr said a lot of kids have it now.

I hope she feels better! My kids have been on and off for the last 2 weeks and its getting so tiresome here! I just want them better!

steam showers!!!!!! take her into the bathroom with a toy and run the shower to steam up the bathroom. sit there with her for about 10 min. then go to a window or the door and let some cold air hit her... it works wonders. kryssy always got croup it is the worst. hth and hope she feels better

My son gets croup several times a year. He has since he was a baby and I thought he would have outgrown it, but he's 8 and it still happens occasionally.
Putting him in a steamy bathroom never really helped him. But we have bundled up several times in the middle of the night and sat outside for a little while. The cold air is the only thing that helps him - somewhat. T
There are a couple of times we ended up in the ER because it was so bad. If it gets bad for your daughter, don't hesitate to go. It is very frightening for them to have difficulty breathing and they do have different treatments at the ER that help alleviate the croup and help them feel better almost immediately.

Melissa- I completly understand what you are going through-
RJ had the croup every other week throught the fall and the begining of the winter...
This morning- I could here the bark coming on while he was inhaling...
So Im sure we'll end up at the Dr this week as well..
Does your Dr give you steroids RX?
If so start them, do a bunch of vapor baths, steamy showers, and keep her elevated....
Croup sux!!
