i think my son had an allergic reaction to walnuts!
i posted the other day how my ds was admitted to schneiders for wheezing and low oxygen levels. i traced all my steps that night and i realized he ate walnuts for the first time that night!!! im thinking this is what caused that attack. anyones child have a nut allergy?? i know we can test for a nut allergy, but then im scared he will have another wheezing attack from the skin test. it that possible?? tia.

 I hope your DS is doing better.
It is possible to have a reaction during a skin test but most likely it will be limited to just the skin and not a systematic reaction. The test will be done under a doctors supervision just in case of a more serious reaction so don't worry to much about having the test done. Its much better to know if it is a true allergy.

One of the little boys in dd's class is allergic to tree nuts, I'll ask his mom on Friday if he's ever had a serious reaction to the skin test.
