I thought they would be excited...UPDATEDwith why she doesn't want this
So I told my family today that they were going to be grandparents, Mu aunt who was my gaurdian and raised me (basically my mother) told me that she was disappointed in me and couldn't be happy for me even though she wanted to, she couldn't. How crazy is that?? I don't know what happened to believing in me and supoorting me in anything? She was bawling on the phone about how disappointed in me and that I shouldn't have this baby.....this is so upsetting.....i think DH's family will be a little more supprtive and happy......we are wrapping the sonogram and giving it to them for christmas. I was just so hoping they would be happier for me.
UPDATE:
She thinks we should have a child right now because we are too young and won't know how to care for a child. I am 25 and my DH is 28, he cried on his birthday this year because he didn't have any children yet. She just doesn't think having kids before 30 is a good things

I just went through something like this the other day with my grandmother. I am so sorry you have to deal with this. A baby is the greatest gift you can receive. As long as you and your DH are happy...screw everyone else.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?! Why would she say this to you? A baby is a blessing. Why would she be disappointed in you, it makes no sense. I'm sorry it wasn't the reaction you were looking for.

I'm so sorry. To be honest, I'm kind of worried about a similar reaction from my dad -- I already know he feels that we should be waiting another few years and that we're not ready yet. I'm dreading telling him.
But, dont let their reaction ruin your excitement. A baby is a wonderful blessing! No matter what anyone else says, enjoy being pregnant! I hope your DH's parents are more supportive

Did she tell you why she felt this way? How upsetting.
I could only imagine my mother saying that if she felt there was a health reason why I shouldn't be having a baby, or if we weren't financially able to support a baby.

Oh my gosh... I am so sorry. Do you have a medical condition and maybe they are worried about you??? Still, if this is what you want then they should support you. So sorry. We are happy for you and here to support you:)

Unless you're like TWELVE years old and having a baby, there is absolutely NO reason for such a ridiculous reaction! I'm so sorry you had to deal with your family member's poor excuse for a response.

So sorry she was so mean to say that! We got really no response ata ll from IL's....my parents were SO EXCITED though so it made up for it... but the IL's are really not involved in the pregnancy at all...they don't even know the scheduled c-section date....kinda sad for them to miss out on it but everyone else around is cannot wait for our boys to be born!
