I wan't to clear up some confusion...
There have been some comments made as to why I am a fan of certain teams. There's a confusion that I am a met fan cuz of DH...not the case at all. I became a fan in 1986....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before I even knew DH existed.
As for being steelers fan. Yes I like them cuz of DH. I will admit that...I didn't realize that you needed years and years and years in your resume to like a team. I was not into football and for the past 2 years I have been. DH has been explaining it to me. What is wrong with that??? I can wake up tomorrow and decide I want to watch hoke...What bothers everyone here? that I say "Let's go Steelers" and not "Let's go Jets"??? Cuz i'm sure I wouldn't have to even post this if I said I liked the Jets.
And if DH were to change teams and decide to like someone else I would still stick to the Mets and the Steelers.
I am just posting this because time and time again I have gotten the same remarks about my fan status. I felt like I needed to defend myself once and for all....I am looking to start start a war with anyone. we all tease each other here about sports.....

because I always get criticized when for cheering for a football team that's not a new york team.
i've been told that I'm not a true fan cuz i've only started watching cuz of my DH. true he did get me into it. but what's wrong with liking a new sport? so what I have never watched it before. I'm glad I do now. it's something that DH and I get to enjoy together.

Gee, obviously there's something else going on. I know many people who are fans of out of town teams - both baseball and football. As long as everyone is respectful to one another, it shouldn't matter who your favorite teams are.

that is the problem.....the LACK of respect !
And the need to just be rude...
Quite a bunch of us have learned to be mature and respectful to all the fans .....
While others use any chance to throw out a obnoxious comment....
So when that happens they should be upset when they get an obnoxious comment BACK

All i'm saying is that everytime I cheer for my team I always get accused of not being a true fan.
Everyone else here teases everybody else. But when it's done back to them they take offense. I just don't think it's fair.

wrong, you get knocked when you criticize someone else's team when you are rude and obnoxious in your comments
there's teasing and then there is just plain rude
