I want to know what Labor feels like!
LOL I know that sounds dumb and the BTDT girls are prob thinking "trust me, you'll know!!" I'm sure I will know soon enough, I'm just anxious and everytime I get a pain, I think "is this it?"
My mom said she never went into like serious labor. She had contractions and they hurt, but weren't unbearable. They were however, 5 mins apart, so she went to the hospital where she never progressed past 3 cms & her contractions went away! and they induced and she had complications, so she ended up in a c-section. the whole process was less than 12 hours.
My pregnancy has been the EXACT same as my mom's with me...so maybe that's what I worry about?
This week I've felt some serious cramping...nothing consistent though.
I'm sure I will KNOW when I'm in labor, but I can't help being so anxious about it!!

No ONE can explain it and prepare you for it.
I had it ALL, bad contractions, back labor and all at home, to get to hospital and have my DD with NO drugs!
Just know that its usually starts off as cramps, mild ones and get worse and worse and WORSE!

Lie the most excruciating pain imaginable, LOL. Sorry, but u asked...
Seriously though, everyone is diff- my mom claims she never had SERIOUS pain and I pretty much slipped out in 6 hours total.

I know what you mean. You read all these books do this research, and still have no idea what to expect. The whole out of your control thing is what gets me. You don't know when it is really going to happen and that is scary. Also you don't really know what it is going to feel like. It is so different for everyone.

I was kinda lucky because with DS my water broke. I had NO signs before that... just layed down to go bed, and felt like I had to go the the bathroom, so went to the bathroom... and started leaking! I liked it that way - there was no question!
Contractions started wiithin the hour after my water broke - just like cramps... adn they just got steadily worse and closer together.
you'll know!

EXACTLY!! I'm a planner and I like to be prepared for everything, so this not knowing is KILLING me!!

For me, my water broke while I was sleeping. We were headed to the hospital when I realized I was having contractions. It felt like a tightening across my belly. They definitely got stronger but definitely bearable. I got an epidural about 6 hours after my water broke and I had DS 2 1/2 hours later. I only pushed for 28 minutes.
Needless to say... I had it pretty easy.

It does not always feel the same, so there is no one way. My water never broke, and I did not feel my contractions with DS #1 hardly. It felt more like heart palpitations until the very end, and then it felt like cramps & like I had to poop It was completely bearable, and to be honest my skin stretching during PG hurt more. I went to the high-risk Dr for my amnio that morning to see if DS's lungs were developed, and he could not get the needle in b/c I was in the middle of a contraction! I had no idea! It was crazy.
With DS #2 they were very strong, and I had a bloody show, so I went to L&D at 38w6. They were very quick to progress. I went from 15 second contractions every 12 minutes, to 75 second contractions every 4 minutes by the time we drove from Massapequa to Mineola. I also had a lot of BH with DS#2, and did not really get them with DS#1.

For me it started off feeling like cramps. I didn't realize it was labor until the cramps would come and go. Then they get REALLY strong. I remember saying that it felt like I had cramps, had to pee, and take a big dump all at once, but times a 1000.

My mom to this day SWARES its like having the "Hershey Squirt Flu"
She said a month after having me, she got the flu and the cramps from the poops felt like labor all over again....

same here. It started with a strange burning back pain. The cramps felt like tightening/sharp stomach cramps. The closer they got the worse the pain.
the pushing felt like a really, really bad stomach virus.
