I want to try and start planning #3's christening and having a hard time with location
All of our family and friends live in NY and we are in NJ. The closest family being 30 miles from us and the furthest being 100 miles (1 family and 1 close friend). Most live 60-75 miles from us. Now, we are trying to find a place that is similar to a Leonard's in our area and their really isn't anything that I can find. I found 2 places that we will check out that are only 10 minute from me so that isn't to bad.
Now, DH really wants to have it at a place in Long Branch, NJ which is technically only 16 or 17 miles but we all know what Jersey Shore traffic is like in the summer. For us to get there it is about 30-40 minutes. I feel really bad asking people to drive 2 + hours.
Our first thought was to have it at home, but I am not sure I want to deal with the clean up after wards even though it would be the most logically choice.
So what do you guys think?

What month would you have it in?
I personally think it's better to have it out - less hassle, but I think if you hire some waitresses, and a bartender you won't have to do THAT much. KWIM?

I'm in NJ too and if my family had to drive to the shore in the summer for a party, I am sure they would be ******** unfortunately!! Can you do it someplace closer to your house? What about somewhere in Red Bank? Or I went to a shower once at the Molly Pitcher Inn. I don't think that's too far down the shore right? I am so bad with South Jersey....

ITA! I was going to suggest Red Bank. I've been to some showers at the Molly Pitcher Inn or Oyster Point is real nice too

I was also thinking Red Bank because that really isn't that much further on the GSP. I will look into those to places. Another person I spoke with today suggested Buena Serra in Red Bank and they have a room with a dance floor which is what I want.
D- I am looking at the first week of June.
