I was in L&D twice last week!

Last week was not a good week for me. On Tuesday I started to feel crampy and off. By Wednesday evening I hadn't felt the baby move in 24 hrs, very crampy and felt like I was going to pass out. My Dr. is through NS Manhasset, but Good Sam is the closest hospital to me.

Wednesday evening I decided I just feel wrong and went to Good Sam. Turns out I was having contractions at 29 weeks and 4 days! I was not dilated thank god. They gave me fluids and finally the terbutaline shot and I reacted to it. Contractions subsided and they let me go home after 5 hrs. I have to say the drs there were great and they really took care of me ASAP! They didn't let my husband stay with me, which I didn't like. He had no idea what was going on until they were releasing me - he had no idea I was even having contractions. As much as the drs and staff were good, I'm glad I"m not delivering there.

I was put on bedrest until Monday when I had an appointment with my dr in her office. Friday I started to feel the same way, I called my Dr and she sent me right to North Shore. Once again, I was having contractions, but not dilated. They tried fluids and finally gave me the terbutaline shot again and I reacted good to it. They released me after 4 hours and this time sent me home with Terbutaline pills. I take the pills when I feel the onset of the contractions, so hopefully I won't be running to the hospital once a week. I just turned 30 weeks on Saturday, I think the next 10 weeks are going to be long and busy! The drs and staff there was amazing, I'm so happy to be delivering at North Shore!

This happened with my first pregnancy...I started having contractions at 28 weeks...I kept on having them and going to l&d alot. I was given the shot quite often, but luckily it wasnt affecting my cervix. I delivered my son on his due date!

This pregnancy, I started again with contractions at the same time, but I have only been to l & d once, and to the drs once for it....i'm not as nervous this time around being that I went through it with my son.

I hope you go to full term! I know how annoying the contractions can be

WOW thats some crazy stuff. Glad you're ok though, good luck these last few weeks!!!

I am sorry you had to go through all that.
I that you do not have to go through this again until it is closer to your due dat.
