I was such a jerk today.
I feel so terrible right now. We took Ava pumpkin picking, and rather than having fun like we should have, I was a total jerk to JT and ruined the whole thing. Now he's mad at me and I feel terrible. Ava was throwing an absolute temper tantrum while we were there and I got mad at JT for not picking her up when she was about to throw herself into a puddle of mud and I yelled at him. It just makes me angry sometimes that he tries to bargain with her rather than just picking her up and removing her from the situation. Anyway, I yelled, he yelled back and now we're not talking and I feel terrible I just needed to vent

it happens with me and dh ...sometimes outings become stressful because of tantrums, lack of sleep, teething....

Ryan threw a temper tantrum when we went pumpkin picking also, and it is very hard to keep calm and think logically sometimes. When you child is screaming their head off, it's hard not yell because it is frustrating. DH and I have been there where we take it out on each other, and it's not right, but at the time, we couldn't help it. He will come around. Don't beat yourself up about it.

I HATE that when DH and I fight. I feel awful and he goes to bed to nap or watch sports or something Try not to feel bad- you were just being human

You didn't ruin anything-that is just life; sometimes people argue and during stressful situations (like a child's looming tantrum in public) it is more likely. Don't be so hard on yourself-he isn't, and I'm sure Ava isn't

Well why continue to feel terrible? When he wakes up go and give him a big bear hug and a couple of smooches!
If you feel it's petty then let it be over.
If you feel it deserves to be talked about, then discuss it and resolve it!
But you're not a jerk. You just acted out in frustration.

AHHH, Rachel, don't be said. My Dh is such a push over with Ava and I always have to be the tough one. It really aggravates me.
Just tell him that you don't want to fight and that you didn't mean to yell. Just explain that the right way to handle tantrums is just to remove her from the situation. Dh tries to talk to Ava when she is flipping out and it is hopeless. I think that men want to avoid tantrums at all costs, because they don't want to draw attention from other people.
Been there a million times. You have my sympathy.
