I was supposed to stop worrying
I feel like I am not enjoying my pregnancy as much as I shoud because I am always worrying. I am in the second tri and I know many of the risks have gone down, my ultrascreen results were awesome, but I still worry. I want to feel flutters or something. I can't wait till the 26th when I hear the HB with the doppler and possibly (fingers crossed) get a sono.
Please tell me I am not the only worry wart.

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
you're not the only one!! some days i feel like i'm getting bigger, some days i don't... i really feel like i will be so much more relieved when i can feel the baby. but then, of course, i'll be worried if i don't feel the baby move for a few hours. it's neverending!! i don't think we'll be able to stop worrying for the next 50 years...

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
I hate to break it to you, but for the rest of your life you will never stop worrying.
I worried that something might go wrong until the minute he was born, now that he is 12 weeks I worry that he is sick, or that the blanket will go over his head, or that he isnt entertained enough...
It never ends! Dont worry you are not the only one I promise!

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
I don't think the worrying stops, I know how you feel. I agree it is hard to enjoy the 'newness' of pregnancy because it is not new to us.
I will never have the 'this is my first baby' feeling again. I can't say 'this is my second pregnancy' to strangers without them asking how my first baby is doing. It is an uneasy feeling, all the time.
I do know how you feel.

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
I think it's all part of becoming a mommy. The worry will never end.
Now its all about how the baby is in the womb, then it will be worry regarding SIDS or diaper changing, then it's which nursery school to send them to.
Next thing you know you're worrying about curfews and dating.
Hang in there, this is only the beginning!

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
I'm 20 weeks and I worry all the time that everything is okay. I stress out before each Dr. visit that something might be wrong.
And I've already started to worry if I am going to be a good mother or not...will I wake up in the night? will I drop my baby? all kinds of horrible scenarios run through my mind....

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
You are not the only one!!!! Some days I feel great and get worried and others I feel sick and worry less....but I never stop worrying completely...
We just have to take it day by day and just countdown to each appointment where we can hear our little one's HBs..

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
Oh I really understand that feeling.
I worry each and every day. I get anxiety with every appointment and everything turns out fine. Then I am ok for a few days until I start worrying about the next thing. I think based on what it took me to get this far, its been hard for me to enjoy this the way I should. I feel like I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Whats funny, is that intellectually I know that so far, nothing indicates any problems.

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
I really stopped worrying once I saw the HB at 8 weeks ( had some problems in the beginning) . I feel like the baby is so safe in our bellies, when baby comes out, that's when I'll worry!! I think all these tests we have to go through give people a lot of anxiety. My DH gets so worried and nervous before every single dr. appt and sonogram, and he is not a worrier normally. I Try to think of all the healthy babies that are born every day, that helps me not worry

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
I think most of us are like that! Even now at 35 weeks, I can't wait to go to the doctor to hear heartbeat.
I think this is natural! But try not to get too worried! You don't want to make yourself sick or anything!

Re: I was supposed to stop worrying
it's normal! I can't imagine someone not worrying! But this is just the beginning!
I am at the stage, where I want her to stay inside longer, because I can protect her in there.
