It shouldnt be....People have different opinions and views and that shouldnt get in the way of things. Because I dont support a certain candidate doesnt mean I should be attacked for it. It is MY opinion. Knowone should judge others based on that, and if they do, then it is sad.
For me, it has nothing to do with anyone's views. It has everything to do with the way those views are presented, the way people react to other people's views, and the way people treat each other.
The way those things have come out in the political posts has changed my view of several posters - some for better, some for worse. In no case, however, has my view been affected by the person's choice of candidate or political views.
I have to agree with this.

Re: I wonder after the elections....
who knows.
like I've said on other threads, anyone can annoy you about anything.
and those that would add things to threads for interest do that always...those that add things to threads to incite, do that always as well.
it surely wont' change after the election.

Re: I wonder after the elections....
No. Politics has never and will never affect how I feel about someone. I do not vote in the same party every election, so I might not agree with you this year but four years ago I might have or four years from now, I might again. Its a passionate subject, I like when people show passion about issues. I will never judge anyone for being passionate or for standing up for what the believe it.

I could not agree more with what you said.
Passion is what moves mountains.

Re: I wonder after the elections....
I think some of us already look at others differently.
It isn't about who you believe in or who you are voting for. It is about how you present yourself.

Re: I wonder after the elections....
Yes and not because of another poster's opinions but by the way they express them.

Re: I wonder after the elections....
Yes and no. There are posters I disagree with politically who express their views in a thoughtful and knowledgeable manner who I actually respect even more now (ex: Tilde)
However, there are also a few posters that I admittedly dislike because of the ways they have gone about pushing their candidate, the totally ignorant things they have said, and I can't help it. (not naming names on this one)

Re: I wonder after the elections....
I've been missing a lot of the political posts lately but I'd say it's about how they presented their views versus who they supported.
It's the same with every post. How someone responds (especially over the top or predatorlike) makes me think differently of the poster.
The election has given all of us ample opportunity to show our logical side or our one-mindedness.

Re: I wonder after the elections....
For me, no.
IMO politics is the kind of topic that bring out the best and (because we're only human) worst in people.
I tend to be very passionate about certain issues especially in the heat of the moment so I try to keep that in mind when considering someone else's response and in the long run try not hold what they said against them.
I know would hope the same courtsey would be extended to me.

Re: I wonder after the elections....
No, but part of my job is to argue. It may get frustrating if you really believe in your point, but you have to remember that the other person also has a right to strenuously argue their point. what I don't like is when people take statements out of context.

Re: I wonder after the elections....
I, personally, never hold grudges. I am also cognizant of the fact the sometimes people say really disdainful things in the heat of the moment - which does not make it right but I figure we all make mistakes.
I think this election has been so polarizing and there are so many strong feelings on both sides that I honestly feel that after the election the entire country will need a period of healing. In the end, everyone just wants to feel content and secure in their country we just have different opinions on how to go about it.
(I know, I never know how to keep it short )

And its not because they have different views. It's because of the way they present their views.
exactly...I don't give a **** who you vote for, just present your opinions in a way that does not insult others
I agree and talk about facts and issues not slander and dirt, I dont respect that
