Itgens in Valley Stream has the best ice cream that I've ever tasted!
If you go there, make sure to bring cash. They don't accept credit/debit cards.

Coyle's in Bay Shore. It's small, but they have a really cute counter and soda fountain. Very old fashioned feel.
Sprinkles in Bayport.

I think you can sit outside at picnic tables but I think Snowflake has the best ice cream by a long shot. My fave is the peconic swamp thing

Totally agree - ignore the decor, the ice cream is worth it! And they now DO accept credit cards just not amex

Ooo! Really! That's great to know! Now DH doesn't need to run down the street to the bank when we realize we didn't bring enough cash

I used to work there back in the day. They are awesome and take such pride in their ice cream and operations. My mom still gets all my bday cakes from there. They don't use that fake cream on top of their cakes, it is all ice cream, 100% .
