if baby #2 is a scheduled csection, how early does the dr schedule it before due date?

i am trying to plan a trip to NC around the 4th of july but i dont want to miss out on the birth of my niece/nephew!

my sister in law ended up having an emergancy c section with my nephew so more than likely she will have a scheduled c-section baby #2 .
her due date is july 8th. do you think the dr would try to take him/her out 2 weeks before the due date or closer to the due date? what is the norm?

She has to ask her OB

Some will schedule a week before, I think the earliest I've heard is 2 weeks before, but that isn't too common.

I was told that #2 will be born in the 39th week

I think for most they try to book it for no sooner than 39 weeks but it really depends on the individual, the pregnancy etc. For me, DD#1 came at 38w 4 days - I went into labor on my own with her but it ended in a csection for many reasons.

They worried that DD#2 would come sooner but they didn't want to schedule her too soon so they scheduled my csection for 38 w 6 days - but if I went into labor they would section me immediately. Well I ended up with pre-eclapmsia so they took DD#2 12 days earlier then my scheduled section and she came at exactly 37 weeks.

#1 was scheduled 7 days & #2 was scheduled 8 days (but with her i went 18 days early anyway)

i think i am going to leave 7/3. so there is a good chance the baby might be scheduled 7/1

i dont want to ask my sister in law b.c i dont want it to seem selfish on my part...
i hinted by asking when the baby will be born and she said she would know more as it gets closer..

i jsut wanted some sort of idea of how far in advance before the due date they would schedule it...

my ds was scheduled 5 days before his due date.

I am due 6/12 and will probably deliver on 6/8. My doc does repeats at 39w but because 6/12 is a saturday and she only delivers on Tuesdays and Fridays, the 8th it is. It will all depend on her pregnancy, the doctor's schedule, and with the holiday thrown in there there are probably no guarantees.

Most won't schedule before 39 weeks but I went at 38 weeks b/c I had problems with preterm labor in the past.

My C is scheduled for 4/22. I found out in mid-February.

ETA - 4/22 is 4 days before my EDD.

I delivered at LIJ and they have a policy that they will not allow a doctor to schedule a c-section before the 39th week. Not even by ONE day.

Make sure because I was scheduled for 38 weeks and 4 days and was re-scheduled one week before I was supposed to go in for 39 weeks on the button.

I'm in NC and both my boys were c-sections. First one was scheduled 4 days before due date and second one was scheduled 10 days before due date because I went into labor 5 days before due date with my first (night before scheduled c-section). They don't like to go any further ahead than that. Well, that was what I was told.

My OB is strict with one week prior to EDD, however they took me 2 weeks early due to her size.

I was scheduled no more than one week prior to DD. I went into labor the night before & had an emergency C. The only time my Dr would go earlier than one week is if:
-the baby got too big
-any medical complication arose that would endanger the baby or me
-any indication of a rupture

If the schedule was not clear near the date she wanted, we would have gone closer to my DD, not further.
