If DC had an allergy/sensitivity to a food (solid), how did you know?
I gave DS carrots for the first time yesterday. He got a rash all over his belly/back, like little spots but not itchy or anything. I put Aquaphor on it and it was gone by this morning. He has had this rash before and also has occasional eczema flare ups but I've never been able to pinpoint the cause. Can this be a sensitivity to the carrots? He didn't have any diarrhea or tummy upset at all. TIA.
ETA we see the ped on Monday but I figured I'd ask here. I am going to try again at lunch with the carrots and see if it happens again.

One of my girls is allergic to oatmeal. Her face got all red and blochy. I thought it was just from drool. I stopped giving the oatmeal and the redness stopped and then tried it again a few weeks later and the red bloches came back.
She also seemed to have some senstivitv to carrots as well. I gave it to her for 2 days and stopped the carrots.

My DS had an issue with carrots, but his face got red and blotchy. I tried it again a few ays later and it happened again. Ped said give it some time and then try them again.. I tried them about 1 1/2 months later and no reaction...he just didn't like them

Just wanted to say-my son was also allergic to carrots and apples(which are somehow related accroding to our allergist) He ended up growing out of it around 14 mos or so and can eat both with no problem. I noticed he was allergic to apples when he first started table food around 5 months. He would get very congested after eating them. As he got older he got small hives around his mouth
