If family buy your DC's gifts for holidays, do you buy for them to make it even?
We spend Christmas with my aunt (mom's sister), uncle and 3 cousins and their boyfriends and girlfriends. After having DS, for the past 2 years I have asked that the adults stop exchanging gifts b/c it is just too much (besides buying for my aunt, uncle and 3 cousins...I also buy for their boyfriends/girlfriends to be nice so it comes to about 8 gifts $$$). They always told me no, they want to continue to exchange
My mom just called me and told me my aunt said they were all talking and decided this year to stop the adult exchange and just buy for my two kids which is what I've been asking for the past 2 years.
Anyway, I told my mom, being they are still buying for my kids, I feel like I have to still buy for them. What do you think?

I wouldn't buy any gifts. I would though bring desserts/ wine, etc for dinner.

We have the same issue with DH's family. They have sooo many cousins and everyone buys for everyone's kids. This is the first year we'll be at the holiday party and get gifts for Mason since I was prego last year. We also stopped the adult gifts b/c it's getting ridiculous! I say you don't have to. Bring some dessert or something to the party.

I host Christmas at my house every year. My mom said I can buy something little, but that still adds up to $20+ a person + their significant others. They are all adults 24 and 25.

No. With my mom's family we do a Secret Santa among the adults, and everyone buys for the kids.
For something like this I might do something like let the kids paint small wooden ornaments (Michaels has them for $1) for the aunt, uncle, cousins, etc.

.
This is what we do as well. We do a secret santa for the adults and buy for all kids under 18.

On my side, I buy for my parents, brother, SIL and nephew. And they also get gifts from my DD.
On DH's side, everyone buys for the kids (which now total 6) and we do a Secret Santa for one adult gift. We also buy for DH's parents and gifts from DD to them.

I wouldn't buy for them. When your cousin's have kids you will buy for them.
