You will need pads. I like Lansinoh best. I leaked a lot.
You might still want a manual pump at the beginning ($30-$35) for just in case you cannot BF and you are stuck somewhere.

Nursing pads, you may want to have some cream on hand in case your nipples get sore and also freezer bags to store breastmilk.

Don't forget the lanolin cream! I used the Lansinoh brand.
And don't be discouraged if it takes a little while for you and baby to get the hang of it.

Re: if i plan on breastfeeding what should i buy now???
I would get the following before:
- 2 non-underwire nursing bras (one can be a sleep bra) b/c your chest size may change once your milk actually comes in.
- box of nursing pads (I liked the gerber brand)
- lanisoh (purple tube)
After your milk comes in and if you think you want to stick with it then I would invest in:
- a pump, (double electric is most efficient), but if you are a SAHM and don't really need that a basic manual is a necessity b/c sometimes you need to pump for comfort and DC won't be hungry.
- the milk storage bags
- cleaning bags
- bottles
- nipples
- more nursing bras
- nursing tops and or a hooter hider
I would also see if your hospital lactation consultant will give you for free a manual pump. When I was in the hospital for DS they gave me a manual for free along with some bottles.

I'd definitely get some lanisoh cream (purple tube). I started using that a couple of weeks before DD arrived to prep the girls

Re: if i plan on breastfeeding what should i buy now???
I used my pump the first day back from the hospital. I became very engorged when my milk came in (3 or 4 days after giving birth). The pump helped with this a lot. Also, when DD was having trouble latching, which she did for several weeks, I was able to pump and feed her from the bottle. I know it can be an expensive investment if you don't use it, for me, having a pump when i got back from the hospital was a lifesaver.
I really like Medela Pump in Style.

Re: if i plan on breastfeeding what should i buy now???
My sister planned on BF, and after she got home from the hospital she got very engorged and the baby would not latch on.
She was in agony, and a couple days after she was home we had to pack up a 2 day old infant and go to babies r us. It was not fun, my poor sister was in so much pain driving...she was crazed.
I would get a pump, she got the medela. and keep it just incase the baby doesnt latch and you need relief.
I think you can return them possibly if they are not opened. although im not 100% sure.
