If I were to do the LI 2 day breast cancer walk... ETA - I signed up!
Would there be anyone here who would be interested in sponsoring me?
It's a $1,000 fundraising commitment (the Avon one in NYC is $1,800).
The walk is in June. I have been thinking about doing this recently to help me get over the grief of losing my grandma in July. I think it would be healing since it would be almost a year later.
Let me know if you would be interested - I know I could probably do the fundraising but it would help get me over my cold feet going into it knowing I would have people sponsor me on any level...

I absolutely would. I have done two 3-day walks (a few years ago) and they were both amazing experiences.

a friend of mine does this. One year her and her husband didn't get the necessary donations, so they made their own walk (same milage)
just a thought that it can still be done without the $1000

I had notification of your post and just wanted to invite you personally to participate in an amazing weekend. 100% of what you raise stays on Long Island and helps women, men and their families to fight breast cancer everyday. The organizations we support assist those in need for mammograms, prostheses, transportation to treatments, help with paying bills, scholarship for children, education and breast cancer research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Join us for a walker information breakfast this Sunday, Feb 6th at California Pizza Kitchen, Huntington.
