If my sister's puppy has kennel cough....
...and we are going to LI next week to visit for a week and let the sister puppies play, will she still be contagious? She's on meds as of yesterday. I'm thinking no...but you never know, I've been known to be wrong before.

Check with your vet but I believe they are ok to be around other dogs after five days. Its weird your baby didn't have it too, its so contagious when they are little. My Mom was a dog breeder when I was a kid & kennel cough was a nightmare with all the puupies she had.

I'm kinda surprised she didn't get it...but happy.
She already had the bordatella (sp?) shot...but so did my sister's puppy.

Ollie had kennel cough and was on zithromax for it. We took her to NC and she played with FMIL's dog. I asked the vet first and he said as long as FMIL's dog has his current bordatella shot, he should be fine.
