If they have a cold and no fever...
Would you give Tylenol or Motrin? DD is 18mth so giving any kind of cold medication is out but we're on day 9 now of her cold and she has now developed a cough too. Do you think Tylenol or Motrin might help ease her misery?

I usually will give my kids a shot of tylenol before bedtime. I have no idea if it helps or not.

I wouldn't give anything if the child has no fever, I would just put the humidifier on it'll help with congestion.

probably not. I would use the humidfier as mentioned above as well as the saline spray w/ nasal aspirator and also some vicks on the chest and feet.

i would try the humidifier and run the hot water in the bathroom and let her sit in the steam.
i hope she feels better. 9 days is long to have a cold.

I would use Motrin & be on the look at for ear infection signs. I would definitely use the cool mist humidifier & turn the heat down at night.

It already caused an ear infection. That was last weeks fiasco. She finished her antibiotics on Monday and she 's still full of snot. We always have a humidifier going in her room when we have the heat on. I checked her temperature again before I put her to bed and it was 100.3 so I went ahead and gave her the Tylenol. I guess if she has a fever in the morning we'll be heading back to the pediatrician. I'll die if this ear infection hasn't resolved. This was the 2nd batch of antibiotics.
