Apples and oranges. I do appreciate the other thread has stayed on topic but this was created, IMO, to mock the other thread, hence the (again, my interpretation.) Had this been presented as ideas to support PEOTUS it would have been different.

Apples and oranges. I do appreciate the other thread has stayed on topic but this was created, IMO, to mock the other thread, hence the (again, my interpretation.) Had this been presented as ideas to support PEOTUS it would have been different.
I understand that is your opinion and maybe that is true but we will never be able to find out if anything meaningful would have came out of the thread since it was already jumped on just like any comment that was made over the last few months that wasn't in line in the views of anti-trump supporters. Respect goes both ways whether you agree with what is being discussed or not.

Yes. There is only room for discussion if one side presents it.
Of course..you know being open minded and treating everyone equally and such....isn't that their motto?? what they preach?? .. Trump supporters have no rights to post on LIF apparently. You can only post if you agree with them otherwise your opinions don't count.

If one is looking for mutual respect, then it is best to start with an OP that is respectful.
This (Pantsuit "brigade" + ) is not respectful.
And I'm still waiting for ONE person on this thread to stop focusing on the other side and start talking about DT's general awesomeness.

I see the point that some are making but to be honest... if it says if you're pro trump in the subject line, why even open it? Could any of you refrained from writing something if it were a discussion about him and his policies? We are aware that many LIfers are against anything and everything he stands for. I unfortunately believe that there will never be a mutual respect for anyone who is a supporter.

I have said in previous posts that I don't care what Trump supporters think, so I only opened it because I had a feeling that it was what it was - not a genuine discussion of his policies and a celebration of what he wants to do but a commentary on the recently bumped resistance post. And I was right.
And I think THAT is what says a lot.

Same. He is going to be president and I am open to considering the positives. If he fails, we all go down with the ship. So I am interested in reading what regular folks have to say.
A someone who will never say "Pr...ent" Trump I am also hoping there is a nugget of something, somewhere that might make me feel he might, maybe do something good, or show he might maybe know something about what he is doing.
He can't fail. Because we need him to not fail.

WASHINGTON ? As one of their first actions in the new Congress, House Republicans are planning to significantly change the Office of Congressional Ethics, removing the entity’s independence, barring it from investigating anonymous complaints and even changing the group’s name.
Less than 24 hours before the House convenes and votes on its rules for the 115th Congress, Republicans adopted an amendment Monday night, 119 to 74, from Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) that would fundamentally change the OCE. The independent ethics board investigates complaints against members and issues reports to the Ethics Committee.
Specifically, the amendment would place the OCE under the “oversight” of the lenient Ethics Committee and rename it the Office of Congressional Complaint Review. The new group would no longer be able to release information to the public, employ anyone “for a position involving communications with the public,” or directly contact law enforcement without approval. It would also be prohibited from investigating anonymous complaints.

Sean "My Little Pony" Spicer clarifies that Trump doesn't have an issue with the gutting of the OCE, just the timing of it.
