If you belong to a gym..(personal trainer question)
The gym that I belong to trains people in the weight room. They have a roped off section on the floor where they work out and then they come out on to the floor to use machines.... I've notice that if someone is on a machine and the trainer wants to put his client on it, he tells them to get off and puts his person on. Is that right? He did this to me once. I was on the bicep curl machine and he asked me "can we just use this really fast? It will take 15 secs..) I got off but I won't lie...I wasn't happy. I pay my membership fee just like everyone else. How is this right? Someone enlighten me b/c maybe I'm overreacting. Yesterday, he asked like 4 different people to come off of machines so his client could use them. I was telling my BF and he agreed that it wasn't right.
What do yo think?

That is definitely not right. They don't do that at gym.

Re: If you belong to a gym..(personal trainer question)
I'm a personal trainer and I would never do that. Just bc they are using a trainer doesn't mean they have priority. Rude!

That is so rude. Next time tell them as soon as I am done yes you can. I have a PT and my gym has a seperate room with weights etc... for personal training but sometimes we have to go out in the bigger room for weights and my trainer would never do that.

Re: If you belong to a gym..(personal trainer question)
I'm glad I'm not alone. I didn't want to say anything b/c I thought maybe it was some unspoken rule that I was unaware of. I'm glad to hear that it's not the norm and I def. won't let it happen to me again. If they have a problem with it, I'd be happy to go to the management. It's only this one trainer...I've NEVER seen anyone else do it.

Re: If you belong to a gym..(personal trainer question)
Not right. I had personal training sessions and my trainer would always wait or have me do something else in the meantime. Never kick anyone off a machine. I'd write a letter to the management about it.

Re: If you belong to a gym..(personal trainer question)
My trainer never asks anyone to get off the machine. he will ask if they are almost done and if not, we move on to something else.
Like others said, I would complain.

This is exactly what I will do. At least I know that I won't be out of line to say something if/when it happens again.
Thanks for the feedback girls

Re: If you belong to a gym..(personal trainer question)
It's not right if you were working on it/using it. If you were between sets, then I could see it. Maybe next time you could say "sure, you can work in with me" meaning they can use it while you're resting between sets.

Re: If you belong to a gym..(personal trainer question)
this is definitely not right! you're a paying member of the gym and should be able to use the machine and not be told by anybody to get off it it so that another paying member can use it. why can't they be the ones to wait? i don't think i would have moved for them. i would've told them to wait a few minutes...
so odd!

Re: If you belong to a gym..(personal trainer question)
I agree with everyone else that that's not right. If he asks you to get off a machine again and tells you it will just be "15 seconds" I would just say I'll be done in "15 seconds" and then you can have the machine.
