If you converted a crib to a full size bed

DH finally converted our crib to a full size bed. We bought the crib (Munire) around October 2008. The conversion kit came with the set we bought. DH just opened the kit. At least 2 of the slats are cracked. I'm really ****** that they're cracked, especially considering how much we spent on everything, but I'm even more mad that we didn't check the kit earlier. Is it worth calling Munire or even the store where we bought it? Will they do anything about it? DH put the bed together and suggested putting old books underneath the slats to provide extra support? Do you think doing that would salvage the slats?

We need a full size mattress. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We need bed rails since DS moves around a lot when he sleeps. Where did you buy bed rails? TIA.

We have side rails from One Step Ahead and are very happy with them. As for the broken bed rails I would absolutely say something. Bring photos of the damages and see if they will replace it with a new one.
