It's hard to say. My DD is 4 weeks and I go back and forth between dreading the fact that I go back in 6 weeks and will be away from her, but I also look forward to the interaction with others and doing what I love.
I already feel like I have very little of interest to say to DH when he gets home from work and I worry about being out of the workforce because I have never been unemployed in my adult life. I really want to contribute financially to my family, and we need two paychecks.
However, being a teacher is great for me- I will go back for five weeks, finish the school year, and then have the summer home with the baby. So I get the best of both, and because of DH's schedule, we will only need part time day care.

I'm confused. Didn't you state in your other post that you are a SAHM? But you are saying here that you wouldn't be.....
I am a SAHM but i have to say, I know everything going on in the world and I barely watch TV. I go to groups, I work PT from home, I get out with my son, I meet other moms, read the paper, watch news etc...I like to feel i'm pretty with it, and very happy with my decision. It was hard for me at first but it's been great overall.
No I said I work P/T.

As much as I might miss Ava today, no. I would not choose to stay at home. I love my job and what I do far too much to give that up. I love my daughter with every ounce of my being, and in order to that, I need to be happy. Working (while I might not feel like it today ) makes me happy.
ditto. and just to add as a fellow teacher i think all the time we have off really make sit easier to work knowing you will always have a three day weekend coming up or a week off or two whole months in the summer off.

I would be a SAHM in a heartbeat. I have no desire to have a career, I wish I could stay home with Ryan full time. The good thing is that I work from home most of the time which allows me alot of flexibility and my mom watches him during the day and she lives 10 minutes away.

I work FT now, and will SAH as of 4/20, but I would work PT for sure in a perfect world.

Definitely. I would love to until my DD is old enough to go to nursery school and even then I'd love to just go to work part time.

I am a SAHM, I love it and I think that I'm so lucky that I am able to stay at home... but I didn't have a job that I like before getting pregnant. I guess that if I'd had a job that I loved I'd like to work PT.

I stay at home now and I love it...but I would love to find another child Josh's age to watch daily. We don't need the money, but I would love for him to have the interaction of another child on a regular basis and to be on a schedule again.

Yes, I am a sahm now, but in september I will be heading back to work for financial reasons. But I would love to stay home.

I can't say yes or no. I work 3 days a week and wouldn't have it any other way. It's perfect - I get time with DD and get out of the house for sanity.
