The Ritz Carlton...DH and I got engaged there
That is so sweet! How did he ask you?
It was around my birthday and he had a limo pick us up and take us there...When we arrived we had a gorgeous room overlooking the water (it was the Battery Park one), and there were rosepetals all over the bed... He popped the question there and then we went down to Battery Park and took pics.

Mandarin Oriental
or if you don't mind being on the lower east side - I stayed at the Riverington Hotel and it was amazing- the price was reasonable- and the staff was out of this world!
I agree about the hudson hotel having super tiny rooms- it was basically just a bed

The Waldorf Astoria
I've never stayed in a suite there, but their "standard" rooms are freakin' tiny!!!!!
Oh I was unaware of that b/c we never stayed in a regular room. I always booked the regular room (four times) and each time we were upgraded to a Towers luxury suite... for no apparent reason, they just felt like doing that- We got very lucky b/c we got a room that was $2800 a night for $450
