i'm not attacking or defending Bush, but WHY do people say 'he's not my president'?
you live in this country, don't you? whether you love him or Hate him- he's still the president.

well i think what Marymoon meant is that although he is the president, I have no respect or agree with him, therefore it's like he doesn't exist. at least that's how I took it.

my point is that he's still THE president... so the statement "He's not My president" is just silly. if you live in this country, then he's your president.

Re: If you could, would you re-elect Bush?
Nope. I was a little stunned that he was re-elected to begin with (although Kerry wasn't the best choice as the Democratic nominee).
Thankfully this won't happen anyway. January 20, 2009 can't come fast enough.

i don't think he did, and i don't think we should resume to know that we know everything that he knows.
if kerry was elected, would things be different? i think its just easy for people to blame bush.

Re: If you could, would you re-elect Bush?
A lot of people say "He's still not my president" stemming from the 2000 Election, which many people believe was not fairy decided. If he hadn't been falsely elected (as many claim) in 2000, he wouldn't have been re-elected in 2004.
There is a choice on the poll for "I didn't vote for him then, and I wouldn;t vote for him now" for those who don't feel that "he's still not my president."
I'm really interested to see who ends up running in 2008. I know some people who think Hilary would win if she ran, I REALLY don't think she would win.

In order to have a chance, I think the dems need to run a moderate candidate. hilary is seen my many as an ultra-liberal, and I can't imagine 'red state" people taking to her.

shes right...she would never win. The country is not ready for a women president unfortunatly.
I dont like her either, but she wouldnt have a chance. People who didnt vote before, would be lining up to vote to make sure a women didnt win...Sad but true.

Agreed. Another sad but true ~ the Democrats don't have any stand out leaders right now. Both parties seem to follow party lines, not take risks, and speak out on issues they disagree with their party on. Everything is so partisan and so PC.

Especially hillary, who is seen as ultra liberal. I don't think the same people who voted in 2004 based on having a strong image against terrorism and war would vote for a woman, or a very liberal woman at that. It would be a bad idea.
Also, Hilary ironically isn't making a lot of frineds with social liberals anyway, since she won't make a stand for same sex marriage.
I think I'd like to see Barack Obama run. I have a lot of hope for him

true...but the democrats want IN this year. they will not risk putting Hillary up...
As well as for the unfortunate reasons that Donna has mentioned as well..
But aside for the woman factor....I don't think would make it that far at all...IMO she is lucky to have the office she holds now

It's funny with the Clintons. They are perceived as liberals yet Clinton was the first president since Roosevelt to CUT government spending. He introduced welfare reform, was pro-death penalty, and cut spending on some socail services-- all traditionally conservative views.
