if you do cardio and weights...
which do u do first and why? cardio and then lift weight/do machines? or the other way around?
does it matter in what order they're done?
ETA: to answer my own question, 90% of the time i do cardio first and then weights. i dont have a reason for it other than thats just what i'm used to at this point. DH does weights first.

Weights. If you're body is already tired, you cannot lift enough weight to stress your muscles they way the need to be. It is scientically proven that strength gains are maximized when doing a warm-up, strenght training ,and then cardio.
Most women have it backwards.

I do the treadmill first (or spin class first), then weights and then the bike.

I do cardio first for two reasons: running is the most important thing to me; I want to have all my energy to run and I just like doing cardio first: its my routine. It works well for me.

i agree. right now running is my top proiroty. 2 springs ago, when i was leaning out, i did my weight training first. tonight i will probably warmup with a 2.5mile ez run, lift and then do the stepmill

I know a lot of people say this, but I always do cardio first. I feel like if I lift first my muscles are too tired/sore and it negatively impacts my cardio workout and I wind up skimping out on my cardio, which is more important to me.

Re: if you do cardio and weights...
I don't do them in the same day. I will do cardio (like a jog/walk) for 30 min one day and then I'll do a 30-40 min strength/interval video another day (which does have cardio in it of course but less). Sometimes I just do a pilates video w/o any cardio. This is how I mix things up, not sure if it's the "correct" way but it works and I see results!
