If you do ICSI does the severity of the male factor matter?
That is our only issue. DH has varicole and his morph and motility have gone down from 5% when we got pg with DD to less than 1% now. Our last IUI we only had 670,00 post wash. Does that matter if you do ICSI? In that situation you truly only need one good sperm for each egg right? I am hoping thats right at least.

Re: If you do ICSI does the severity of the male factor matter?
We have MF as well, but just morphology. My husbands morph varies between 0-1% All they need is one good one for ICSI. I got pregnant on my first IVF with ICSI, but unfortunately, I'm in the process of miscarrying it.

Re: If you do ICSI does the severity of the male factor matter?
My DH has 3% morphology and they did 100% ICSI on my IVF and I got pregnant, just had a chemical. I must say, though, I've gotten pregnant 3 times with IUI with his morph problem, so who knows, you know? Just one good one is all you need. Lots of luck.

Given that you are paying out of pocket for IVF and probably want to nail it on the first try, I would def. go for the ICSI. HTH!

Re: If you do ICSI does the severity of the male factor matter?
For us, they said the main reason for us to do IVF was for the ICSI (we are only MFI as well). Beacuse it takes thousands per egg they did not want to risk losing sperm by trying traditional IVF. Plus, we had a sample frozen in advance in case the sample the day of wasn't good enough. With your post-wash IUI #'s (similar to ours) I would say definately do the ICSI.

Re: If you do ICSI does the severity of the male factor matter?
For us ICSI was not even a question. We have MF (bi-lateral varicoceles)...low count and morphology and ICSI bypasses those issues. Good Luck!

Re: If you do ICSI does the severity of the male factor matter?
ICSI bypasses all male factors...before they inject the egg they cut off the tail and only inject the head (which has the genetic makeup) the sperm doesn't even need to be moving (only alive), in some case the sperm is even immature so no need to worry....with morphology like yours they will do ICSI....

Thanks guys! We will definitely do ICSI but I was just worried if it was enough to bypass our male IF problems.

I think it's the only and best thing to overcome MF issues.
