I give juice BUT I only give her the Mott's reduced sugar for Tots and then I cut that 1/2 water, 1/2 juice and she only gets it once a day.
We also occasionally give her prune juice if she has truoble going - that is also cut.

empty calories... and because my son doesn't like it. 
He only drinks milk and water.

Everything in moderation is fine in my opinion. The rule in our house is they may have a drink with each meal (either milk or juice or water). If they have juice or milk, they get one cup and then can have water if they want more. Throughout the day they drink water.
I actually started the baby (now 9 monhts) on sippy with water at about 5 months and now she hates juice, even watered down juice. She only wants water. So I'm sticking with that.
Just limit it and you;ll be fine.
