If you don't get any more sonos after Level II...
How do they know how big the baby is? My dr. doesn't do a growth sono or any other sonos but I want one! Anyway I know on here a lot of people seem to have a sense of how big their little one is and I am wondering how they figure this out. THANK YOU

My doctor didn't do a growth sonogram, they said the error on them is too great. They can be 1-2 pounds off either way, so it really doesn't matter.

My doctor uses a flexible ruler to measure my tummy (started after 30 something weeks) but and they have a general guide for size vs date but...I will be going for my second growth sono since my munchkin has measured bigger vs size again.
Your doc may very well send you for one if he/she comes across the same situation or if they have a reason to check on the baby. Otherwise they don't because of the health insurance. Healthy baby = no justification for one...but many docs manage to get you into one.

The doctors can usually tell by molding their hands on your belly and feeling the baby...I guess after years of practice you can "guess-ti-mate" the weight of the baby...
When I had my eldest daughter the sonogram said she was 5lbs 5oz not even a week before she was born..I went to the doctor a couple of days later and the doctor said that she was A LOT bigger than that..she was born 2 days later at 7lbs 15oz..so I guess the doctor was right..
