If you don't mind sharing...

How much did you spend on baby furniture and how many pieces did you get? Did it include delivery and setup?

I added a poll in case some of you aren't comfortable posting.

ETA: I am posting because my Mom made me feel terrible about the set I picked (she thought it was way too expensive). I thought I was being "middle of the road" in my choice. My MIL offered to give us some money towards it, as did my Mom. I probably just should've ordered and not told her how much it cost in total.

We got three pieces:

Convertible Crib
Changing table
Glider & Ottoman

Total value approximately $1000 but the crib and the glider were gifts. The glider ended up being totally unused.

I think the price of baby furniture is SILLY!!

MIL paid just about $300 for our crib, I love it, got great reviews.

My changing table, just about $100 with tax.

I am waiting on the dresser until we move. BUT I can tell you it wont be more than $300.

Re: If you don't mind sharing...

my bill was close to $1500 for two pieces (dresser and convertible crib) but I also added to the invoice, the mattress, the conversion kit and the setup/delivery fee

fortunately our furniture is a gift from DH's parents

We spent about $1950. We bought a Munire set - convertible crib, five drawer chest, changing table/hutch and upholstered glider.

We got a convertible crib and dresser/changer combo for a little under $500.

with DD#1 we spent something in the 3-4K range. we got a convertible crib (which she bit to pieces, lesson learned), two dressers and a glider with ottoman. the crib converts to a toddler bed and a full. we have no use for the full in this house so we'll eventually replace it with a twin. the two dressers should last her until she goes off to college. they are beautiful well made pieces that have ample storage space.

now with DD#2...

we went as cheap as we could go. the room she'll be in is TINY and can only fit a crib, dresser and glider (although that's pushing it). we found a nice looking crib + mattress for a little over $400, and the dresser that will serve as a changing table was under $300. the glider and ottoman we will reuse. we still need to buy a small bookcase, lamp and area rug, but then we are done. we did it this way so that when we move to a bigger place DD#2 will get a nicer big girl set rather than getting one nice piece that will be impossible to match later on.

you don't have to spend a fortune to make a really beautiful nursery. the two girls' rooms compliment each other very nicely...

Re: If you don't mind sharing...

With DS we spent at least $3K, we bouthg a beautiful crib, changing table was unit, dresser, Glider & foot rest. I absolutely love the way his room came out. And yep I know that's alot of money, but we didn't mind speding it, and no one else should make you feel bad either.

we haven't ordered it yet, but going this weekend whooooo hooooooo. we are getting the convertible crib a tall dresser and a long dresser. Each of them are 399. I'm hoping to get a 20% off coupon before we order them. we're not getting a glider, we're getting one of the small chairs that glide and swivel, I think that is a little less then 300 also.

Re: If you don't mind sharing...

For DS we got the crib that converts to a toddler bed, dresser/changing table and tall stand up dresser...

If I knew then what I know now I would have only purchased a regular crib and saved money then bought dressers for a teen room instead... The baby dressers dont really have much room for when they grow up. And the crib that converts they fail to tell you to buy the rail for the toddler bed when you purchase the crib. it is hard to find later on. I ended up buying a toddler bed
