If you ever visit the Biltmore House/Estate in NC....
Ask when it's least crowded; Debi and Fred visited there today, and it was REALLY CROWDED, to the point where Debi wanted to leave. Another tip: If you reserve tickets, be advised that the reserve ticket line can be a mile long, and affect your tour time!! Be there EARLY. Also, no inside pictures are allowed. Mary

I used to live in Asheville many years ago, and the Biltmore House is just gorgeous. But around the holidays it's waaaay too much to deal with for me to even go.
We would go in the spring when the gardens were in full bloom and just plain beautiful.
Last time I was there was around 10 years ago or so, I can only imagine what it's like now.

We went right before Thanksgiving-they had it all decorated for Christmas. It was beautiful and not too crowded yet but I imagine it gets crowded leading up to Christmas and New Years.

I went many years ago as a kid in the late spring w/ gardens in full bloom. We have many pics taken inside....really something to see.

We went there Columbus Day weekend this past year when the fall foliage was in peak. We got there when it opened and by lunch time, it was a zoo!!!
I would imagine during the holidays, it would be near impossible to walk around and take pictures.
We couldn't take pictures inside during our trip either, but we bought the book and some postcards to treasure what we saw inside.

both times we have gone in the spring. pretty empty...nice to be able to be out on the grounds.
