If someone came into your house RIGHT now to visit
would you be embarrassed?
do you keep your house in tip top shape?
right now we have a sheet on the couch from eating there, the guest room has laundry all over and the office is a mess. yes, id be a little embarrassed

ummm yeah you can barely walk into our place. i'd be embarrassed  i have been buying everything in sight and not bothering to put anything away (other than groceries) so it all just piles up in the entranceway!

Not totally embarrassed since I cleaned the kitchen this morning and gave the house a good once over on Sunday -- although there are piles of papers everywhere

you know what the saying is.... people come to see you not your house.... i mean if it is just a regular day, if it was a g2g or something planned ok then maybe a little differant but, you know that everyone does not keep a house in tip top shape everyday

Yeah, I'd be a bit embarassed - things aren't in order and there are tons of dust bunnies under my bed. Funny you posted this though b/c I have a fear lately that my MIL will stop by to do a surprise insepction and since DH is home today and may meet th ILs for lunch I srubbed the grime off the tub this morning while I was in the shower - just in case:)!

yes i would be. I try to keep the place tidy but DH isn't so neat. There are always glasses around and candy wrappers 
Also, i usually only to a good cleaning on saturdays because of work all week.

A little embarassed. It's not a total disaster, but it's not clean either.
I don't always have time to clean during the week. That's usually my Saturday job.
That's part of the reason I don't like drop-by visitors. I like a little notice before someone comes over to shove everything in a closet somewhere!

Nope. I am a neat FREAK!!!! Everything once used must go back exactly where it came from. And I get up early to make sure even I am ready just in case someone comes over
No wonder I am so exhausted

I tyr to keep my main rooms clean at all times in case someone stops by- my kitchen, living room and bathroom. As far as my bedroom and office forget it!

not always! i like seeing other peoples houses - not just the people living in them! LOL
but seriously ive walked into peoples homes with short notice or whatever, and their bathromo is sparkling and everything is perfect....and im VERY impressed!

OMG... TODAY!!!!
Considering I've been on bedrest for 4 days I'd be more over how I looked. I look like I should be living in Port Authority bus terminal
Actually, I just ventured downstairs and DH kept it very neat. Looks just about the same except the laundry hamper next to the washing machine. The slip covers on the couch are a bit askew but no dishes or garbage. He's good

I agree with this.
Yet before I leave my house, I make sure everything is in order. So I'd have to answer no to your question. It's probably because my mom was that way too and I can be a little neat freak. I try to be as organized as possible because I find it saves time in the long run. and I also try to do little things every day so as not to let things get piled up.

 we live in a small apt and I would die if anyone just stopped by. there are only so many places to hide/put our STUFF! we always straighten up when we have visitors.
we’re definitely not pigs or anything like that, but our place is small and there is STUFF everywhere!

Yeah. I'd be a little embarassed as well! We moved on June 1st and there are still some random things in the entry way that I need to get rid of.
But I try to straighten up the main parts of my house in the mornings after DH leaves. He is pretty messy and even though I HATE picking up after him, I have to or else it would really be disgusting!!
To add to it, my dog loves my husband's dirty socks. She just strews them all of the place. Its like a conspiracy with the two of them!!
