If you had a wedding rehearsal dinner who gave speeches?
I didn't have one. Although I have been to many weddings, I have only been to one rehearsal dinner, and no one gave any speeches beyond the father of the groom who said thanks for coming - lets eat. Are speeches typically given? Who gives them?

My DH gave one and my in-laws did. But they are Australian and they give speeches up the wazoo. A normal Australian wedding has about 1/2-1 hour of speeches  . Since they don't have rehearsal dinners there, I let them give their speeches at the rehearsal dinner.

at our RH, DH's father and DH were the only two to give a speech. they were only a few minutes each. basically said thank you for coming, etc.

No speeches at ours, but I did attend one where the best man gave a hysterical speech about the groom.

If I remember correctly my FIL said just a few words and thanks for coming since my in laws paid for the rehearsal dinner. Nothing big.
ETA: I remember my MIL reading a little poem she wrote too. Very cute.

Only DH. He thanked his parents for hosting & thanked everyone for coming.
I think the hosts should say something & either part of the couple to thank the hosts on their behalf.

At mine, nobody. It was very casual and we only had bridal party & immediate family - there wasn't much to say
At one I went to recently, the bride & groom made a little speech to thank everyone for being a part of their day, how much it means to them that their nearest & dearest were all there to support them, that kind of thing.
