If you had fibroids removed...
I had mine removed during my csection in July so it was the typical csection recovery.

Thanks! I've had a hysteroscopy before but never while asleep and they've always lasted a minute tops. I'm guessing you're only out for like 15 mins or so? (3 egg retrievals, D&Cs, etc and I'm still a baby about being put out )

Re: If you had fibroids removed...
My friend had it done she had golf size fibroids and her recovery was 8 weeks like a c-section since they basically make an incision to get them out.

Whoa I thought it's taken out through your vajay during a hysteroscopy!!! Maybe hers were done that way because of the size?

Crashing here. There are a lot of different methods for the surgery and a lot of different reasons. I had a laparoscopic surgery that was then converted to an open myomectomy. Long story, but I knew there would be a risk that they'd have to cut me open during the surgery. Recovery was difficult and it was the laparoscopy scar that gave me trouble. Now I am almost 48 and I'm having trouble with fibroids again but my first surgery was in 2003 and I have had a child since then. One child, by my choice. I searched fibroids because I need a second opinion and I have to find a doctor.

Wow thanks for sharing, do you mind sharing why it became such an intense procedure?

I wasn't out that long but I have little real memory of it other than it was easy peasey.
I was able to start TTC pretty soon. Def not 6 months cause I got married 2 months later and we started right after we got married.

Yeah this is the smooth process I imagined when it was brought up.
I've otherwise mostly decided to avoid Google because, ya know
Figured I'd get my reassurance or reason to freak out from you fine people

Jeez. Do you know why? Like was it unusually large or in a bad spot?

I had fibroids and polyps removed. My experience and recovery was very similar to my D&Cs. I was back to work the next day.

Re: If you had fibroids removed...
Thanks Gina! Just read through that thread. My appt to figure out a plan for removing it is in a few weeks. Since the experience is so different for everyone, it's probably best to wait at this point and see what my dr says.
My MO is getting blindsided by sonos
I told the tech, when I expect it to be bad, it's fine. When I expect it to be fine, the sky falls. Or a fibroid appears, or whatever.
