If you had/have a child with a significant speech delay...
....about what age did the words REALLY start coming out?
My son just turned 2. He is just really starting to say things. He always had a few "words" (mama dada, buh bye etc..) and now he is adding sloooooowly more words (sit, hi, apple, down, no, more etc..).
I have to remember how far he has come from just 6 months ago but sometimes I just wonder when I'll get to hear more words and phrases..it would be so nice. He has such a cute little voice when he says things, we are just always anxiously awaiting more!
Just curious!! TIA!

Wanted to add..his teachers tell me his is approximating so many words and they can understand what he needs...for example, "Cracker" is "ack-uh" and milk is "muk" lol. I guess that is a start?

Two and a half, his speech is definitely way behind his peers, but he can speak in sentences now. His sounds aren't great still, he can't do hissy sounds. But at Two and a Half he started really communicating a lot better!
