If you had/have High blood pressure during pregnancy
When does your dr send you to the hospital? What reading is their threshold? I've been to the hospital twice now and both times everything came back normal including my blood pressure readings the entire time at the hospital. I want to see if my dr is jumping the gun or just playing cya

Wow. I would average around 140/90 even on my meds and he never sent me to the hospital. That is surprising to me
ETA- the bottom number is more the one to be concerned with. The top can go up and down with nerves stress etc. The bottom is more how your heart is working

Re: If you had/have High blood pressure during pregnancy
They sent me at 130/90 - but that was an increase from what it had been - 110/60 to 120/70. I think it also had a lot to do with the protein levels in my urine. First time they sent me directly to the hospital from my appointment, they tested me at the hospital and sent me home that night - with additional monitoring/more frequent check ups. At my next doctor's appointment they sent me back to the hospital again - and that time - they told me I would be staying at the hospital until the baby was born - entered the hospital at 32 weeks, delivered at 32 weeks, 5 days. In those two weeks - my proteins jumped from just under 300 to over 4500 I think. It happened VERY fast. I don't want to scare you though - everything worked out just fine! I have a very healthy 2 years old and with this pregnancy - everything has been normal and I will be 34 weeks on Monday. But - do I would definitely ere on the side of caution. They totally saved my life and my babies life. It may be inconvenient - but it's safe. Good luck!!

I totally get this, but I haven't had protein in my urine, I did the 24 hour collection, im about to do it again. when I get to the hospital and they monitor my pressure for an hour its always around 120/80. this time it averaged even lower than that. im just getting frustrated that everytime I go to the dr now shes going to send me to the hospital and im going to do this all again for nothing

I think if it's your average, it's one thing.
Like when on labetalol, mine is usually around 130-140/70-80. So when the bottom number went to 100, they sent me to L&D to test me for pre-e. But I never developed it.

I commented on your other post but I just wanted to add here that I got sent to the hospital constantly! I also would say it's so much better to be safe than sorry preaclampsia is very dangerous for both you and the baby. My SIL almost dies because her kidneys starting shutting down immediately and baby had to be taken prematurely. Same thing happened to my cousin. I do understand how much of a PIA it is though cause when I was going through it (before any of them were pregnant) I hated being sent to be poked and prodded at the hospital.

Re: If you had/have High blood pressure during pregnancy
You should insist on a manual BP at the office. Those automated machines are notorious for false high readings.

funny you should say that, i requested the old school cuff and they said they don't have any! and then i made her take it on a different machine and it read higher!

If you had/have High blood pressure during pregnancy
Make sure your feet are flat on the floor when they take it and that you get to sit down for a few minutes before they take it. My doctor was always willing to wait and recheck before jumping to conclusions and that was enough for it to come down every time.

If you had/have High blood pressure during pregnancy
At 35 & 1/2 weeks, my BP hit (out of nowhere) 170/100. I was sent to the hopsital, and induced.

is it bc your blood pressure stayed high? did they do your bloodwork and urine sample before they decided to induce?
