If you had to stop working way before your due date
my due date is not until 1/27, i think i will deliver before then but Dr Kofinas has put me on bed rest due to my cervix. He is allowing me to go to work 2 days a week as long as i sit at my desk all day. And my thankfully, my job was nice enough to set me up with a laptop and let me work from home the other 3 days a week. However, there is a chance my Dr will pull me out of work completely. We have to see how my body reacts to this.
Anyway, I know with FMLA they have to hold your job for 12 weeks. But, there is nothing that protects you legally from losing your job if your Dr. pulls you out, is there? I really don't think my job would do that to me because they have been really great about my "issues" so far, but i was just wondering because i do plan on going back to work after the babies are born. TIA!

If your Dr. is telling you that you can no longer work then you would go on disability. My due date was 11/12 and I was put on bedrest on 8/10 and was on it till I had them on 9/7. They couldn't fire you for being on disability. And then when that runs out you would go on FMLA for up to 12 weeks.

Re: If you had to stop working way before your due date
Thanks! Someone at my job told me this yesterday too. Hopefully it won't come down to that anytime soon but I think I might contact HR next week just to see what I would have to do.
