If you have a big/tall husband...
Is your DC also bigger than the average baby at birth?
I'm scared to death 'cus DH is more than a feet taller than me at 6'1 and near the end of 6 months I already look like I'm 8 months! :P

dh is 6'1" and im 5'0", my dd is in the 50% for both height and weight. She was 7lbs 5ozs at birth... now at 1 year shes 20lbs 4ozs... to me shes a bean.

Nope! DD was smaller than average when she was born....and still now- she is 13 months- and at her 1 year visit, she was still only in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th for height.

My DH is average in height and weight. But DS was 11 1/2 pounds (early) at birth.
What was your DH's height and weight at birth? I hear that sometimes birthweight is what to go by, not current weight.

My DH is 6'3" and is a little tall for her age now, at 3.
She was 19.5 inches at birth.

I'm also 5' and am so hoping my DS will not be too far in height/weight from your DD!
It's a relief to know that DH's size does not necessarily dictate the baby's size. :D

I read that the baby can only grow as much as the mother's body allows while in the womb so i wouldnt worry too much!!

Me 5'4
DS was born at 7lbs,6 oz and 20 inches.
Now at 13 months he is 26 lbs and 33 1/2 inches.
He was born 10th% for height and now he is 95th!!! He grew sooo fast.

dh is 6 - 2 All along my sonos said big baby. my last sono said 7 lbs 3 oz, well baby was born 5 pounds 15 oz, tiny. so don't worry about it! docs told me baby will only grow as big as mommy can handle

DH is 6'1" and I am 5'8".. Kaila was 21" at birth and has always been between the 90 and 100th percentile for height and weight.

DS is only 3 months but is 90 percentile for weight and 80 for height.
DH is 6' and I am 5'5".
BTW - DS was born 9lbs 3oz at 38w6d.

I am 5'6" and DH is 6'1". I was only a little over 6 lbs at birth and DH was a little over 7 lbs so I expected smaller babies. My babies were:
 - 8 lbs 6 ozs 21 inches long (born 2 days early)
 #1- 8 lbs 7 ozs 19.5 inches (2 days late)
#2- 9 lbs 4 ozs 18.5 inches (6 days late)

My DH is 6'4, and Julia is average in weight and height right now, Todd Jr is in the 95th percentile for his weight and height right now, but so was my daughter when she was a baby. I have a feeling though that my son will be big like his daddy.

yup DH is around 6ft, his father is also tall, and my DS is and always has been in the 95 percentile or above for height (he was 21inches and only 7lbs at birth-doctor had told us that most 7lb babies are around 19-20 inches and now currently for his age he is above the 100 percentile for height. he's so long

Nope. My DH is 6'4" and I am 5' and DS was actually on the smaller side at 6lbs, 11oz.

Now she is in the 97th percentile for height and 90th for weight at 19 months.

DH is 6'4 and DS was 9lbs 4oz, and is truly taking after his father. He is now 2 and a half and is a bruiser! I know he will be tall, and not short like me!
DD on the other hand is petite like me! Born at 7lbs 13oz, she is on the small side.

DH is 6'1 and i'm 5'3. DD came early, so she was 6 lb 5 oz, but if she had gone to term she wouldnt have been more than 8 lb.

I am 5'7 and my husband is about 5'11
Both my kids were big and long at birth. DD was 10lbs 21 inches and DS was 10, 8 22 inches.
DD is in the 50 to 75% percentile now and DS is still in the 90's. He has always been off the charts.
My mom and her side of the family are all really tall.

My DH is 6' and I am 5'8" and both are children are tall and big for their age....in the 90%. Both of our families (except my dad's side) are very tall. Taller then both of us.

Chris is 6'3" and I am 6'. Athan was born 7 lbs 2 ounces and 20 inches long at 37 weeks 4 days - average I would say but he did come a little early. If he stayed the full 40 weeks I have no doubt he would have been bigger.
He is, however, 90 percentile for weight and 97 percentile for height now at months.

Me: 5' 8"
DS born 38 weeks: 7lbs 10oz, 20 in.
DS is 3 1/2 months and is now 18- 19 lbs and 25 inches.
I too looked huge and everybody (including me) thought I was going to have a huge baby, especially since my husband is so tall, but DS was average size. Don't worry! :)
