The country I was born in does not circumsize boys and it is not something that my family does.
However, I am breaking the tradition and having him circumsized.

I will! DH is Jewish so it was never a question.
I think that even if DH wasn't Jewish I would have it done. Both of my nephews have been. For me it seems like the right thing to do.

We are! My DH feels its the norm and doesn't want our little guy feeling uncomfortable someday...so since he's the one that knows the parts I'll go with what he says lol

I vote YES but DH votes NO. In our culture, it's not the norm so I guess I will cross that bridge when I get there (aka when we find out what we are having LOL)

I'm so glad you posted this!! I always thought of course we would...but now I'm not so sure and although DH is, he doesn't know that he definitely wants to.

to answer my own poll, DH and I have talked about it and I'm almost 100% sure we won't.
I have quite a few friends with boys who have told me HORROR stories about what has happened to their sons after a bad circumcision, not to mention it's not medically necessary.
ETA we're also team

we're also and I am terrified of doing it and have not been able to find any research on why we would need to- yet we are still up in the air because its more a custom thing in this country and I dont want our son to feel weird someday

That was DH's issue since he is uncircumcized. But I told him if we do have a son who is left intact we will make sure he knows that there is NOTHING wrong with him just b/c he was left the way he was born.
And honestly after being with cut and uncut men I would pick DH any day!

We most likely will not, but are not 100% decided yet.
It is not customary in either of our families to circumsize and other then the hygiene aspect of it, I don't see a reason for it to be necessary.

I'll cross that path when I get to it. I think we will if we do have a boy. First of all, DH is Jewish, so it's actually part of a cultural aspect. Second, and more important, I've known a few people who felt psychologically distraught from not being circumcised. We'll see if and when we get there though!

no we won't. there are no benefits to doing it.
i can't bring myself to inflict that pain on my baby just because "everyone else is doing it". also, we don't have any religious reasons for us to do it.

Due to cultural reasons, DH did not want to BUT after speaking to our pediatrician, he was finally convinced otherwise.
