If you have a grandparent who lives nearby and have 2 children do they have a carseat for both kids?

If you have two children (and they don't act as daycare) do they have 2 carseats to take your children out?

background - my mom comes over almost everyday after work - and she usually wants to go home to HER house. She only has a car seat for DD#1 (3) - so she ONLY takes my older daughter - and if she wants to see my 14 month old she has to stay at our house - her solution is that I drop the my 14 month old at HER house (which would cause chaos with my 3 year old who will want to go too). I'm told that NO one has 2 car seats b.c it makes their car useless and she won't drive MY car.

If my parents take my kids, they either take my car or my car seats.

MIL has 3 grandkids and no backseat LOL- she has 3 casr seats back there!!!

My mom has 1 right now for my older DS (3.5) and she's never had the need to drive them both anywhere. She rarely even drives anywhere with my older one. Bt once I go back to work in September what I think I'm going to do is turn the carseat she does have backwards so that my little one can use it and just buy her a booster seat for my older son. That way she still only has one carseat in her car and can keep the booster in her trunk.

My mil has one carseat for DD - who is almost 3 years old. But no car seat for my younger DD who is 4 months old.

My mom has 2 carseats in her car. Both of them are for older kids. My older DD and I have 2 nephews who are 3.5 and 2.

My mom drives my older DD and my nephews a lot, but doesn't drive my younger DD.

It doesn't bother me at all.

No, just one..basically b/c we cannot afford 9 car seats which is what we'd need, and also b/c my van is the only one that can hold 3 car seats

My mom has none, and could never lift DS into and out of the seat (or a shopping cart).

My MIL has two that were for my niece and nephew, but if she drives my DS somewhere, he uses one of their seats. She never needs to drive all 3 together.

My dad has one carseat in his car for Jack, for emergencies only.

If they ever needed to take both kids they would just take my car

Both our parents have seats for both (we bought the 70 convertible seats from Walmart); BUT they watch DC during the week. If they didn't, not sure if they'd have all those seats.

my parents have seats for both, but they are usually not in their car unless they anticipate the need.

Yes - both my parents have 2 seats in each of their cars.

I have DS who is 3 and in a convertible carseat and then my mom has an additional base in her car for my sisters DS who is still a baby. She watches them both on Wednesdays so she need both seats. My ILs, who do not watch either grandkids as daycare, have two convertible carseats in one of their cars for DS and my SILs toddler.

My Mom has a booster seat for Damien. She doesn't have LATCH in her car so I'm not comfortable with a car seat in it. Plus Damien goes with her to a lot of different places.

My Mom would never babysit so that's one down LOL... my MIL on the other hand, she just takes the one out of our car herself...even sets it back up when shes done. We don't know how often we actually will need her to use it, so we're not gonna waste the money. ..for now at least.

My IL's live over a 1000miles away and have a seat for each. My dad and mother...no. which is fine since we don't see them at all basically. But yes, if they lived close I would get them a car seat if they couldn't afford one or chip in for them.

Mine have 2 seats since the like to take both kids (and me ) to their town beaches etc.

See the issue for me is that my mom is coming and taking my older daughter to her home - and my younger DD is getting upset. Her solution was for me to then drop the younger one off at her house - but then I have to take my older DD to do so - and then she is upset. She doesn't want to come here all the time either. For some reason she refuses to drive MY car which has both seats and I repeatedly offer to her. She will only take my car when DH and I go out and both my parents are babysitting the girls. It is just hard b.c basically I have to choose which girl she CAN take - my DD#1 or DD#2 - which to me seems like favoritism - but her response to me is always NO ONE has two car seats in their car and if they do then their car is useless and I'm being difficult and unrealistic to think that OTHER people have 2 seat.

my BIL and SIL either leave their car for my parents to use with the seats in it or they take the seats out and put them in their car.

now that they are 7 i think they just sit in the back seat or on a booster (not sure) but if its a booster they are supplied it.

Can't imagine making someone buy a car seat unless they purchased a heavily discounted used one.

My MIL only has one car seat that she will use interchangably for all of the grandkids.

My mom has the base for the infant seat and a regular car seat in her car so she can take both of them.

my mom has one carseat - in a convertible!

If she is taking both my kids, she'll take one of our cars.

my mom has 1.....she usually just takes DS to her house or i will drop the babies there or go there with them.
