If you have a Hotsling (or other type of sling)--question

I just picked up a Hotsling from Buy Buy Baby. I am going to practice with it at home today. They didn't have any patterns I loved so I may return it and buy one from Target.com (cheaper anyway). I love the whole idea of the sling and I know people rave about them.

My question is: at what age did you begin to use the sling with your baby? DS is two weeks old tomorrow and weighs probably about 9 lbs. Did it worry you that your baby was covered inside the sling (I am worried about his face being covered by some of the fabric)?

We started with a ring sling at birth and loved it!

I have a sling and I didn't so much use it when DD was very teeny- but when she got a little older and had head support- I never liked her head being covered by the fabric either, and used it more when she could look out and see the world.

My sling is from Lucky Baby. They have instructions on their website which I am posting here.

If you look at the instructions for the cradle carry- at # 7- there is a link to further information for using a sling with a newborn. I hope this helps.

I used a sling from birth up.

I bought one today and Ryan is almost 5wks. How do you like yours?
