If you have a potty trained kid - especially a boy ... (a million questions)
Which potty did you use? How old was your DS when you started introducing? And how old when they got it? Did you ever suspect they didn't like one kind of potty but preferred the other?
Also if you have a potty where do you keep it? Bathroom? Kitchen? DS is 15m, I don't know if that's on the early side or average?
What potty training books/videos/etc did you use?
Here's the deal
I do not trust him with the big potty. All he wants to do is throw things in there, and watch it flush. Or he wants to splash and taste the water in there. But he seems uncomfortable on the floor potty
DS has been showing signs of readiness since 10m, so we started to put him on before baths. That worked great till he started walking and climbing really well.
If we sit him down, he'd just scream and get up, like he's in a hurry to get to something else. (its like this with everything, getting him to sit anywhere)
When ever we talk to our ped in the past, we've been telling him how DS seems to be interested in the potty, but w aren't sure what to do this early. This past appointment, ped gave us a way to train him with candy, honestly I'm not comfortable with, especially since I don't think DS will care.
This is the potty chair we have
DS sits on it but kind of squirms and gets up right away. I really think its not comfortable for him. I even took off the pee pee shield thing because he tends to want to sit too close to it.
I had him bottomless again today to air out a rash, and he actually crossed his legs, screamed "pot pot pot" and peed standing up right next to the potty. ok ... so now what

Tell him to "HIT WATER"!!!
Maybe he feels more comfortable standing. They have kiddie urinals but that's not going to help you with the other side.

we had ds trained for pee using the big potty and a potty seat but we could not get him to poop no matter what. It turned out he couldn't bare down correctly to poop on the big potty. we got him the little froggy potty and he learned how to poop on the little potty. After about a month he figured out to work the right muscles and was able to make the switch to the big potty.
