If you have a small dog, please come in!

What do you put your dog in when you go in the car?

We had a soft-sided kennel for Lilly, but she didn't like it too much - she couldn't see what was going on around her, and she's a nosy little IG!

We bought her this:

and I was wondering if any of you have used this and how you found it.

I have yet to take her in the car with this new seat and am curious as to how she is going to be with the seat. She's squirmy, so I how that this will be able to confine her. She'll be in a harness that clips to the base of the seat.

I know how important their safety is in the car and I want to do what's best for her!

I use a travel kennel for my dog now. I would love to try that. Where did you get it?

I got it at Petsmart - it's not as deep as it looks... The whole bottom portion is an inflatable pillow - with a soft padded divider that the pup sits on. I'm really hoping that it will be deep enough for Lilly - she's all leg!

We are going to take a trial run tomorrow evening - I'll update then! Chat Icon

We use this for our Shiba Inu. He did not love the harness at first, but once he realised he could see better he relaxed & enjoyed the ride!

Fantastic! Lilly is used to her harness - we use it when we go on long walks.

Thanks for the input! Chat Icon

I have to get this. Molly never sat in the seat we had for her - bc she thought she was the boss. This pup will def. go for it.

Where can I get that seat?

I have two of them and you have to train your dog from early on to stay in it. And they will never know any other way in the car and will be really good about most likely. You have them wear a harness (not a collar) that will get clipped to an attachment they give you that clips to the seatbelt. So God forbid you are in an accident, they are a bit safer, plus, the dog can't jump out of the seat while driving.

My dogs love it, they lay back and rest their heads and look out the window as I drive. So cute.

I have a harness for her. Do I need a special one for the seat, or will a standard harness do?

A standard harness is fine! It will just clip to that. Keeps doggie safe in the car.

It took her a few tries to get used to it, she would try to jump down on the seat. We started by putting treats in it until she was comfortable- then she realized it was nice and comfy AND she could see out the window.
