Can this be traced if you start a new job? He didnt get a ticket/points or anything. TIA

there is an application that's asking for a driving record? Does the position require driving?
If so, call your insurance company and see how they list it. go from there.

Its not a driving position but rather he may have to drive from time to time. No applic asking for info but I dont want this to come down on him if it turns out they check after the fact.

If a police report was filed then it will show up if the company runs a Motor Vehicle Report (you can obtain one from the DMV for a fee). If it was reported to the insurance companies (either yours or the other drivers), it may show up on a consumer report. In case the job asks about it, I would call your insurance company/agent/broker (whomever you deal directly with) and ask for a letter stating the percentage of fault your SO was, along with what was paid out (if any). HTH!
