if you have an anterior placenta.... UPDATED with new q in OP
how often do you feel the baby kick?
for me, some days it's more and some it's less.
when i had my 30 wk appt last week, the nurse practitioner was using the doppler to get her heartrate and asked me if i felt a kick that she felt and i didn't. DH has also had his hand on my stomach and has felt kicks that i didn't feel.
i feel like i'm being jipped from feeling all her movements......
ETA: how am I supposed to count kicks if I can't feel everything? what do you do about counting? TIA

Re: if you have an anterior placenta....
I have a 24 week appointment today. I feel the baby very sporadically. There have been one or two days where I feel nothing. I actually tend to feel the baby more with my hand on my stomach than I do from the inside.

Re: if you have an anterior placenta....
I had anterior placenta with both pregnanices. With pregnancy #1 I didn't feel consistent movement until 31 weeks. Then it was non-stop and by then I can actually see DD moving all around.
With #2, I felt movement much earlier, but DS was much higher than DD was. I carried very low with DD and I think that's why I didn't feel her until much later.

I had an anterior placenta also.
With DD, I didn't feel consistent movement until she was 32 wks..There are some days that I feel more than others which are normal.
I used to count kicks when I am laying down at night...I feel it better when I am resting rather than standing up. Sometimes I drank a glass of OJ so I can feel the kicks better

Re: if you have an anterior placenta.... UPDATED with new q in OP
I was just at the MD tonight b/c I stopped feeling kicks over the weekend and got worried. I'm 26 weeks and the baby turned into breech position and my placenta is right in front now so I can't feel much. The sono tech kept saying "she is moving, look at all of those movements" and I felt nothing.

I had this with DD. I hated being hooked up to the monitors and they wanted me to press the button when I felt her kicks, because honestly, I did not feel them all that much.

Re: if you have an anterior placenta.... UPDATED with new q in OP
honestly with my DD i rarely felt her. Everytime i was hooked up i was told she is moving like crazy do you feel her and i would say not really and this was at 40 weeks. My dr never told me to count but she did say as long as she is moving the amount i normally feel it should be fine!

Re: if you have an anterior placenta.... UPDATED with new q in OP
I have an anterior placenta this time around which I just found out yesterday at 21w. The sono tech said the baby was very active and my response was "REALLY!?" I feel as though lo is not compared to DS. She then explained I have an anterior placenta and that is why I dont feel it so much. Movement definitely feels cushioned and not as strong. I still feel movement so I don't feel jipped and as for the counting kick I never did that with DS I just always used my own judgment. You will know when movement is different.
