If you have an independent 3 or 4 yr old?
just curious what they are doing on their own...
DD is 3 1/2 and she has become over the last few months very independent... my baby is getting so big...
DD goes on her own to the bathroom only needs help with going number 2.
she dresses herself in morning and put her pjs on at night.
gets herself ready when we go out shoes and what not
If we have a sitter come she actually puts herself to bed bc she wants to do it.. which is funny to me.
she clears her plates and cups after eating
and god bless her shes on this computer more then me and i dont even have to explain to her how to work it...

Re: If you have a really independent 3 or 4 yr old?
DD (turned 3 on father's day) wants to help when she is in the mood - she will put the laundry in the washer and then move it to the dryer for me. She puts the non breakable things into the dishwasher.
She gets her own snacks when she can, drinks I still have to pour unless I want them all over - but she will bring me whatever it is she wants so I can open it or help her with it (she mostly snacks on apples - whole but peeled, melon - or cheerios) if it is already cut up and in a container she will put it on a plate herself. Some days when she wants to be helpful she will sweep up the cheerios she leaves in her wake with a broom and dust pan. However I can rarely get her to pick up her own toys - go figure.
She has been dressing herself for about 6-8 months - she will NOT leave the house most days IF I dress her - she HAS to do it on her own - which is frustrating if we are in a hurry - she puts on her shoes (although she sometimes still puts them on the wrong feet but insists on putting her shoes and socks or sandals on herself.
It really depends on the day though - somedays she is very helpful and other days - not so much. But she is in a big I'm a big girl kick right now so that helps somewhat.
