If you have an SLR camera some questions

Did you get a camera case for it?

Do you keep the lens on at all times? Do you put the lens covers on?

It just seems sooooo big to me.

SLRs take the most amazing pictures, because youre in control! i love them...

your best bet is to keep the lens cap ON it, since you sound nervous. keep the lens caps on at all times! have fun!

Really? Keep the lens off the camera? Ok - I'll do that. I have no clue! Thanks!

I have 3 lenses, so I always have one lens on the camera at a time, with a cap over it too. The other 2 lenses are capped on both ends and stored in my camera bag.

Yes, I have a bag for my camera. It may be alittle big, but I feel it keeps the camera safe and also dust free.

In addition, I keep one lense on the the camera at all times and store the other one in my bag. The unused lense has covers for each end.

Ditto. I have a bag that is built to cushion the camera just right when a lens is attached. So it's supported underneath the lens and the bottom of the camera.

I've read that the coupling of the lens and the camera can "warp" over time with improper usage but the average person is not going to use a camera that much to cause it. Or use a lens so heavy either. We're talking two foot telephoto lenses and such. Chat Icon

The way I look at it, the less often I'm opening up the inside of the camera to outside dust and debris, the less I have to clean the sensor. So I only take off the lenses when I have to.

Re: If you have an SLR camera some questions

I store it in a bag witha lens bridge, so the largest lens is on it resting on the bridge (basically like a hammock), and the smaller one is capped at both ends standing up ina lens compartment in the bag.
